IndieCork Music at the Crane Lane – Friday 9th

Moody Roots – 9:30pm

Moody Roots are a five-piece band, mainly acoustic, comprising of cello, violin, 2 acoustic guitars & percussion.

We only play original music, our market is primarily adult listeners who appreciate the music for what it is – however our music will appeal to all – as our songs are things of beauty.

We define our music as fresh HOME GROWN WEST CORK COUNTRY SWAMP MUSIC WITH AN ORCHESTRAL TWIST!

Our music has evolved from a little village “Way Out West!” (Lissarda) with the help of the McCarthy family (from a neighbouring townland – Shandangan) – sisters Elaine and Laura (on cello and violin respectively) and Adrian Boyle (Clonakilty) adding percussion. Recently a long-time friend and musical collaborator has joined Moody Roots – David O’Donovan (Cork) playing a range of stringed intruments including guitar and banjo.

Moody Roots will take you on a nostalgic musical journey with gorgeous arrangements and harmonies.

Testimonial – Simon Napier Bell;

“Beautiful flowing, live, gently grooving music, with rhythms the like of which I’ve not heard for ages. And all these most individual and alluring sounds topped off with a voice of sheer perfection.”

Fighting Caravans (& Festival Club) – 10:30pm ’til Late

A tacky disco meets a Last-mile wake…Fighting Caravans are a 5-piece Alternative Rock band from Leeds, UK. Formed in early 2014, the group record political and spiritual disdain with Americana/Blues overtones.

The vintage guitar sounds lend to an aching exposition of lyrical variety, from the final confessional moments of a Felo de Se story to narcotic anthropomorphism. Fighting Caravans have a burden only alleviated via public execution.
