The Ronan Phelan Script Award 2019

Guidelines

The Ronan Phelan script award is intended to encourage filmmaking talent in Ireland, in memory of Cork filmmaker Ronan Phelan.

The shortlisted scripts will be pitched by either the writer, director or producer to a panel of judges during IndieCork Festival 2019.

The award will recognise the best script entered, through awarding of a trophy at the closing night of IndieCork Festival 2019.

Rules and Regulations

The Evidence of Ownership form on the online entry form must be completed, signed and returned as part of your entry. Without this form, applications cannot be considered. Please download the form here: The Evidence of Ownership form.

One soft copy of the script/synopsis by email to: ronanphelanscriptaward@gmail.com

Late entries will not be accepted. The deadline is September 30th 2019.

The completed application form should be attached with one copy of the script or synopsis by email.

The soft copy’s title page should only bare the title of the story and no other identifying features. (this copy will be sent to the readers)

Open to Writers, Directors and Producers.

Script duration is maximum of 12 pages.

Scripts must be formatted correctly (e.g. 12 point, 10 pitch courier font, etc.)

If the applicant is not the author of the script they must verify copyright with a completed evidence of ownership document.

Max. 1 scripts per application. More than one application can be submitted.

We are unable to provide feedback on scripts entered.

Incomplete applications will not be accepted.

Five scripts shall be shortlisted for the pitching round.

These shortlisted scripts will be pitched to a panel of judges, each pitch will run for a maximum of 10 minutes.

Committee members of IndieCork Festival are not eligible to apply to the award scheme.
